NYWA and AISU jointly call 24 hours capital bandh on August 2

ITANAGAR, Jul 23 : The Nyishi Youth Welfare Association ( NYWA) and Arunachal Indigenous Students Union (AISU) jointly announced a 24-hour Capital Bandh on August 2 owing to the State Government’s  failure to meet their charter of demand for some of the long  pending demands.Addressing the media here at Arunachal press club (APC) here today AISU Chairman Techi Talik said that the charter of demand which include Non floating of NIT under GeM Portal for procurement of medical equipments, immediate repeal of Arunachal Pradesh District Based enterprise and Professional (Incentive development and professional) entrepreneurs act 2015 ACT, immediate annulment of Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 2014 ,cancellation of 3 number of  ST certificates illegally issued to Tibetan refugees, renaming of Indira Gandhi Park as Abotani Park , introduction of chapter about Arunachal Pradesh in NCERT syllabus were organisation key demands.

 Talik said that there is a need to repeal the District Based Enterprises and Professional (Promotion Development and Professional) Entrepreneurs Act 2015 as to give equal opportunity to all the illegible and genuine contractors to participate in tenders irrespective of place of domicile.

 He also demanded for abolishment  of AP Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 2014 citing the act is Draconian in nature as it gives extraordinary power to law enforcers to book any  pressure groups leaders protesting to press for their rightful demands even through democratic way or even otherwise.

 On their demands for non floating of NIT under GeM Portal, Talik said that the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) passed an order to state government to advertise any NIT related to procurement of Hospital equipment  for ten districts hospitals should be floated through GeM Portal.

” Instead of advertising the NIT through GeM portal, the concerned State Health authority violating the specific order advertising the NIT through using other online modes and e marketing thereby depriving quality of products and to favour someone and in such case in the name of local for vocal, “President, NYWA, Tai Talley lamented.

He added that the officials and authority to promote “Vocal for Local”, several important machines and medical equipment were procured in such a way violating the established norms through NITs on GeM portal.

Talley also reminded the authorities concerned about their demands for cancellation of ST certificates illegally issued to 3 Tibetan refugees  reflected in various memorandum submitted to the state government earlier including to rename the IG Park as Abotani Park.

He urged the general public to support the 24th hour capital bandh on August 2nd and try to understand the genuine demand placed before the state government. Talley added that we have submitted several memorandum reminders but the state government has failed to fulfill our charter of demand as finding and to press the demand we have called the democratic movement.
All the essential services which include the movement of paramilitary, police, magistrate on duty, ambulances and fire services vehicles are exempted from the preview of the bandh. We shall also consider the person going for Covid 19 vaccination and testing and medical treatment etc.
