Much – awaited, a dream project WTP to fetch 1285 Households is in the offing

Namsai, July 23: A lift water supply project in the scenic bank of Teang River near Marua Bridge is in offing and will be commissioned soon.
The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) site is integrated as a tourist destination with value addition works like Children Park, cafeteria, open air amphitheater, river view jetty, sit out canopy, Intra plant walkway, water body with floral fountain and solar lighting. This eye – catching vista will also entertain Pilgrims and tourists visiting the famous holy site of Parsuram Kund.  

A capacity of 2.70 MLD treatment plant is conceptualized and sanctioned by the government of Arunachal Pradesh. The water is sourced from a Jack Well in the river bed. It aims to provide safe drinking water to 21695 populations covering 1285 households in 10 habitations under Chongkham block of Namsai district.

When interacting with one local inhabitant, he lauds the dream project and appreciates the government for fetching the residents with fresh and treated water in order to avoid various looming water – borne diseases. He also expressed gratitude over the beauty of the project which will attract visitors as well to get themselves entertained with the developed infrastructures.      

It needs to be mentioned here that Union Minister, Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on 9th November 2020 visited the under-construction lift water supply project. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, Minister for PHED & WS, Wangki Lowang, Lok Sabha MP (Arunachal East Parliamentary Constituency), Tapir Gao, Namsai MLA, Chau Zingnu Namchoom, MLA Tezu Karikro Kri , MLA Likang Jummum Ete Deori, and MLA Nampong, Laisam Simai .
