NAHARLAGUN, Feb 15: Prominent singer and composer Rerik Karlo Digbak from Arunachal Pradesh has been awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2020 in Folk and Dance category, Arunachal Pradesh on February 15, 2023, at Meghdoot Theatre Complex, Rabindra, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi by the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
Union Tourism, Art, and Culture Minister Krishan Reddy presented the award.
The award has been presented from the year 2019 to 2022 and it was due to the advent of Coronavirus in 2020.
During the ceremony, a total of 19 personalities from Northeast India have been awarded in various categories.Rerik Karlo, a school teacher by profession, has recorded almost 250 songs in different languages of Arunachal Pradesh.
