ITANAGAR. MAY 14 ; The Arunachal Olympic association (AOA) is trying its best to strengthened all the sports association/organization and provide them all possible support for promotion of all games and sports in the state so that our athletics can reach the Olympic games. Said AOA President Taba Tedir.
The AOA President Taba Tedir who is also education and cultural affairs Minister while addressing the special general meeting here at DK Convention centre said that time has come and everyone has to come forward for the promotion of games and sports in the state. There is a huge potential of sports in the state and our youths have lots of energy and all the energy has to be channelized. good sports players and athletes need to come up for which all the sports organisation have to work hard so that we can produce good players. He said.
We have lots of challenges in state in terms of good infrastructure and equipments and machines and others and in passage of time the state government is also taking care and we have to totally depend on it so we are requesting the sports organization and others like minded who can come up with such infrastructure so that not only the selective people and youths can avail but all interested person can utilized the technology and infrastructure to make up a good players. He said.
We will see that our youths take part at all levels including the Olympic in time to come for which we are preparing the roadmap, a retired sports administrator Subash Daimary has been taken as our advisor and it would be beneficial. He said.
We need a sports training centre in the state where we can train the young children and youths in different disciplines who can take part in state, national and international level and even to Olympic games. We are preparing a road map and a proposal will be sent to the government for providing support. There are 65 sports organizations in the state and we have identified 10 games/sports and the high power committee has recommended which include Karate, boxing, football, archery etc which are applicable as per physical fitness of our youths we will promote. He said. The minister said.
We will also approach corporate sector from where we can also get support in promotion of games and sport in state. He suggested the sports organization make their own colander for whole years and accordingly they have to act so that all games and sports preparation goes well. he said.
Referring to fake certificate issue, the Arunachal Olympic association President said that since day one when I become the president have declared in the first session itself that we will not tolerate the face certificate issue anymore, The original and genuine and deserving candidate for the job reservation and sports quota should goes to them and not to anyone with fake certificate. We have included the issue in today’s agenda for discussion. Tedir added.
