Lawmaker Kumsi Sidisow and Rode Bui inaugurated 21st North East Fide rating Chess championship-2023

NAHARLAGUN, OCT 21 : More than 350 chess players across the eight state of the  North Eastern region of country are taking part in the 21st North Eastern fide rating Chess championship-2023 here in capital complex being organised by All Arunachal Pradesh Chess Association (APCA) here at Dree ground.

Thrizino-Buragoan MLA and Forest & Environment Minister Advisor Kumsi Sidisow and Dumporijo MLA and Industries Minister Advisor Rode Bui attended ht inaugural ceremony as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Both leaders interacted the players of all the state and motivated them to remain attachment with any types of games and sport to remain fit and fine with a healthy body and sound mind. 

Addressing the function, MLA Kumsi Sidisow said that Chess is getting popular in north east states of country as it has been observed that few top rating chess players are coming up from Assam , Arunachal Pradesh etc. several national and international arbitrator have come up form state is a good sign of improvement of chess. He emphases the chess may get popularity across the state including rural nd urban areas so that maximum number of youths join the mind game which can be played sitting at home and can learn form to others. Said Sidisow.

Whatever the benefits and facilities are being given to players to others sports discipline such benefits and facilities and support will also be given to the Chess players of state and assured his constant support to the AAPCA. 

Referring to one point memorandum submitted by the AAPCA, the Chief guest Kumsi Sidisow said that we both will meet the Sports & Youth affairs Minister and if needed will meet the Chief Minister and apprise of the demand which is genuine for organizing of grand master Chess championship in state which in name of Late Dorjee Khandu who was popular chief minister who always promote games and sport and was himself associated with several games and sports. 

The Dumporijo MLA who was guest of honour also address the occasion and said that “ our state government is giving much importance to all games and sports and players as well. The state government has began with games and sport in school and organizing school games and sports competition as well”. It is happy to know that this is the 2nd time that the Chess association is hosting the championship and hope the championship is played well and completed without any problems.  The chess is getting popularize among the people in state and if the organization carry forward its activities continuously few best of the best players may come up from state who can excel in national and international level.

Organising Chairman Tamchi Kache, Organising Secretary Tapi Shah, AAPCA Vice president Tassar Mohan also adders the function. 

AAPCA President Niapung Konia, All India Chess federation Joint Secretary Mughabo Awomi, Mahendra Dakhal, North East states forum President Arun Singh, Secretary Biju Singh, IAS & Secretary Repo Ronya, IFS and special secretary Ranphao Nogowa, International arbitrator Dharmendra Kumar among others were also present on the occasion.

More than 351 players from all eight states of NE region are taking part who   play various types of game of senior and junior level. Several parents and team manager and arbitrator form all the states and national level is also taking part in the week long championship.
