Mra missing: Inclement weather hits search ops; team returning

ITANAGAR, Sep 07: The East Kameng district administration has halted the foot-based and helicopter operation to locate and rescue Everester Tapi Mra and his associate Niku Dao due to inclement weather conditions.

The district administration in a statement said the rescue operation team which included porters, Army personnel and mountaineers, who reached Veo, is on the way back to Seppa.

Four Army helicopters are on standby to be deployed on September 8 forenoon as there is prediction of clear weather, due to inclement weather ahead Seppa, the helicopter search and rescue operation has been called off again on Wednesday, the district administration added.

On the other hand, the Tagin Cultural Society (TCS), officers and public leaders have contributed Rs. 1,50,000 in the bank account of the DC, Seppa to be used for the search and rescue operation.
