State govt enhanced casual leave for police force from 8-15 days

ITANAGAR, The state government on Wednesday has approved enhancement of the eight days of casual leave to the police forces. The casual issue has been in focus by the media for the last two years time and again as the police forces working in the state were unable to attend to their home town to meet their parents and spouse due to reduction of casual leave earlier a few years back.

The issue of the casual leave was a matter of great concern for the non gazetted police personnel who are serving in state. 

The order which has been approved by the governor issued by Home department vide- file no-Home=11011 (17)/6/2021-HM-SecTION-A-HM dated 15-12-2021 said that “ The governor of Arunachal Pradesh is please to accord approval for enhancement of casual leave  from eight (8) days to fifteen (15) days in respect of non gazette police personnel of Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) wef 1st January 2022”.

“ The maximum numbers of casual leave permitted to the police personnel of Arunachal Pradesh Police in a calendar year under the government of Arunachal Pradesh is fifteen (15) days only and the leave sanctioning authority should  not grant casual leave for more than Ten (10) days at a time except under special circumstances”. The order said.

Earlier Home and border Affairs Bamang Felix has informed the media that the state government is keen to reconsider enhancing the number of days of casual leave for police personnel based on the provision of law, the matter is being vetted by the law and the finance department. 

Earlier the home department had reduced the number of days of casual leave prompting anger among the police personnel of the state. The announcement of the order will give a great relief to the police personnel and it would benefitted to more than fifteen thousand police personnel of Arunachal Pradesh. A top police officer said.
