Year’s first snowfall hits Mayudia Pass in Lower Dibang Valley; road blocked

NAHARLAGUN, Dec 28: The Mayudia Pass in Lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed this year’s first snowfall.

Due to rain and heavy snowfall the road at Mayudia Pass has been blocked.

In view of the blockage, the district administration of Lower Dibong Valley has issued a public advisory on Wednesday.

Through the public advisory, Soumya Saurabh, the District Magistrate of Lower Dibong Valley, in the interest of safety and security of valuable lives and property of the denizens of Lower Dibang Valley district and tourists from neighboring State of Assam and others have been advised to restrain from travelling to Mayudia Pass till restoration of the road connectivity.“The Superintendent of Police, Town Magistrate, Roing and SDO Hunli is hereby directed to enforce this public advisory in letter and spirit. Necessary legal action including seizure of materials to be initiated against the violators, if any,” the District Magistrate said in the advisory.
