ITANAGAR, Sep 06: The Education, Cultural affairs and DIA Minister Taba Tedir assured to fulfill the requirement of headmaster, vice-principal and subject teachers in various parts of state including the East Kameng district and process is in active consideration.
He was addressing the media person after attending the assembly session. This issue was also raised in the session today. There were five questions related to the education department. Said Tedir.
More than 60 posts of headmaster and vice principal are lying vacant, which would be filled up after conducting the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting to be held on 9 September next and they will be immediately posted out as per requirement, said Tedir.
Under the Mukhya Mantri Shiksha Kosh (MMSK) 249 posts of subject teachers have been already sanctioned, he informed. Adding that the requirement of teachers in the state is increasing every year, so posts of subject teachers would be created in a phase-wise manner.
With regards to closing down of school with zero enrolment and defunct school, Tedir said as of now around 400 schools have been closed down and asked the department and administration to list out the schools with less enrolment and the list are yet to be received. Said the Education Minister.
Referring to shortage of headmaster and subject teachers raised by Seppa local MLA Tedir said that there are 5 HSS and four have been sent and one will be sent soon while few secondary schools will also get headmaster and assured that the issue may be resolved soon. He observed.
The subroto cup is being organised at Bhalukpong on Sept 20 and CM will attend and the education department is also giving importance to sporting activities so that the students also remain touch with games and sport and can play at higher level. Minister of education added.
