AATRPRAC submitted five point charter of demand, sought calcification on ST/PRC issue of lekang etc.

ITANAGAR, JULY 8 : The All Arunachal Pradesh tribal rural panchayat restoration andolan committee (AATRPRAC) on Friday in a press conference here at Arunachal Press club (APC) has informed that they organisation has submitted a five point memorandum to the state chief minister with 30 days ultimatum  

Addressing the media person the AATRPRAC Chairman Maji Tayem has informed that there has been a confusion on permanent resident with regards to ordinary resident and permanent resident of ST People in area of Dayum, Vijayanagar, Bordumsa under Changlang district and Lekang-I and Lekang-II in Namsai district. Action against the state election commission  (SEC) for allowing Non-APST to participate in the state panchayat election in various panchayat assembly constituency in Namsai and Changlang district. Immediate roll back of names of Non-APST candidates who have won panchayat election and holding post of ZPM, GPM and even GBs. Constitution of high level committee to monitor and check illegal ST/PRC attained by Non-APST across the state and others.

We are against these issues which are for the greater interest of the general people and specially the indigenous people of state or time will come we may have to face lots of inconveniences if these issue are not resolved within the time frame with several framework. 

There are need of documents for enrollments for voters and contesting candidates and the the SEC should have been atced properly as how the Non-APST has been abel to contest local body poll in various parts of state specially in Changlang and Namsai district is  a matter of great concern and the state government  should not keep silence and act upon properly do better for ht indigenous people of state, the population of the area are increasing form time to time and a time will come the indigenous population will be outnumbered. He added.

We have been raising the issue since 2019 and during 2019 and filed PIL and the government did not show clear-cut response and we also taken out documents either from RTI or others and we don’t want to remain in confusion on the permanent and ordinary resident if the Non-APST people residing in these area and is a matter of confusion and concern that everyone can contest election or only ST can contest the election and it should be made clear. Eh demanded.

We demand clear cut information on the matter within a month and our organisation has served 30 days ultimatum and after 30 days we will chock further course of action
