The Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society has expressed profound disappointment in response to the series of statements made by Itanagar Deputy Commissioner, Talo Potom, on various public occasions. The society finds these remarks deeply problematic and asserts that they exhibit a clear undercurrent of sexism, a sentiment wholly inappropriate for a public servant occupying such a responsible position.
Given his role as an IAS officer, the Deputy Commissioner is expected to be cognizant of the profound implications of his words. The society emphasizes that comments which irresponsibly perpetuate sexism cannot simply be brushed aside as mere jokes.
In light of this, the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society appeals to Mr. Talo Potom to engage in self-reflection and consider the potential consequences of his speeches. The society hopes that the Deputy Commissioner will take proactive measures to rectify his behavior and ensure that such occurrences do not repeat in the future, for the betterment of the community and to preserve the dignity of his office.
