Around 700 schools has been shut down to strengthened the education infrastructure and education quality in state-Pema Khandu

PAKKEKESSANG, FEB 13 : More than 700 schools in state has been shut down to pave way to strengthened the educational infrastructure and quality of education of state. This has been done after through verification and in due consultation with the local public of the area and stake holders. Said Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

The Chief Minister Pema Khandu was speaking to reporters at the sideline of a public function at Pakkekessang general ground in Pakkekessang district on Tuesday afternoon. The decision to shut down the school was taken after due consultation with local public and villagers and also in view of presence of more than one school in a same area. 

Since day one it was find that there was zero enrolment schools and more than hundreds of such schools with zero enrolment has been shut down. It was also find that there are more than one school in a same locality/village and one school was merged with the other school in the same locality to strengthened the capability and manpower so that the education scenario is upgraded and quality education is improved. It does not mean that there shall be no school in the said area. He said.

The central supported school demand is much more and we have been emphasizing for central supported schools in various parts of state for quality education of our future generation to provide quality education to our children’s in state. He said. 

Meanwhile, the state government has been emphasizing for IV school which have more facilities and also Gurukul has also began in state with two such educational institute in Nyishi area one in Galo and one in Adi belt and it will continue and it will help to protect and preserve the indigenous faith, tradition, culture and ethos of the society. 

So many schools was established earlier has deteriorated the education scenario and it may be due to political compulsion and also to get contract work and bold decision was taken by our government will enhance the education quality. He said.

Recently I visited the Anjaw and find that the Dong ITI is not functioning due to non availability of students and to use the infrastructure lying unused created by state government. I have discussed with the department and I have asked them if the department, administration and local elected representative to discussed properly and submit the report to the government for appropriate decision from an alternate use. He added.

Meanwhile on the occasion, the Seijosa Higher secondary school has been declared as golden jubilee model school our of 50 approved by the state government. The tender work has been approved and work may start soon. The Pakkekessang Secondary school has been upgraded to higher secondary school.  A feather school of secondary school at Rillo or Pijariang proposal may be approved soon. 

So far 50 golden jubilee schools has been announced and in progress, 50 dedicated KGVY schools setup, state own university has began in Pasighat, 12 ERSS school established, 6 new polytechnic established, 5 new college established and several such works is yet to be done. 

One JNV school has been announced for Pakekessang out of 7 which may be approved for state and if all formalities is done properly then one KV school proposal will be proposed. The Chief Minister added.
