Assam Rifles, in a heartwarming display of camaraderie, came together with students from VKV and Govt Sr Sec School in Changlang to commemorate the joyous occasion of Raksha Bandhan. This event, held on August 30th, 2023, aimed to foster peace and unity in the region while honoring the cultural significance of Raksha Bandhan.
During the ‘Raksha Sutra’ Ceremony that took place from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM, the participants engaged in the timeless tradition of tying ‘Rakhis’ and illuminating diyas. The event also featured a touching recitation of a poem by a talented girl from class VIII at VKV school. As a heartfelt gesture, the girl students crafted handmade cards and presented them to the men in uniform.
The event saw a collective participation of 27 girl students, six male students, five teachers from VKV, and 17 girls, two boys, and five teachers from Govt Sr Sec School. Additionally, four officers, three Junior Commissioned Officers, and 50 Other Ranks of Assam Rifles joined in the festivities.
The soldiers were deeply moved by the enthusiasm of the school students and their appreciation for Assam Rifles. This event not only garnered praise from all quarters but also sets the stage for more such engaging interactions between the younger generation and the military, fostering a strong sense of solidarity within the local community.
