KHONSA, JULY 12 : The all Tirap district students union (ATDSU) on Tuesday has submitted a memorandum to the union state minister of Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar on Polytechnic college starting in Tirap district at Khonsa circuit house.
The students leader led by ATDSU Convener Khiapgi Agi, Asstiant Finance Secretary Rannok Sumnyan, IPR Secretary Nakap Ketok and Asstiant Education Secretary W Wangsa has meet the MoS (Education) Dr. S Sarkar on his three day visit in Eastern Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday at Khonsa circuit house and meet him and submitted the memo.
Speaking to media, the student leader inform that ‘ the polytechnic college was constructed a decade ago without service any purpose, the constructed infrastructure is lying vacant and no effort ahs been taken by the administrative authorities to start the college till date’. As per information such college in other parts of state which was constructed are functioning smoothly without any disturbances and inconveniences which is a matter of great concern, the students leader said.
The students for the area who are willing to join such courses but due to financial condition they area unable to go outside the Tirap district and if the infrastructure is utilized it may be beneficial to the desirable youths of the area. The student leader said.
The students leader has urged upon the union minister to look into the matter seriously and appeal to start the polytechnic college so that the students residing in the vicinity of the district may avail the facilities of the institution soon.
Meanwhile, later the minister briefing the media has inform them that he will take up the matter of starting of polytechnic college of Tirap district and under construction college in Longding district with state government and see that what are the hurdles and problems being faced by the department to start the polytechnic college.
