Bhalukpong administration appeal commuters to avoid traveling during night and heavy rainfall

ITANAGAR, JUNE 15 : The Bhalukpong administration of West Kameng district has issued advisory for the general public and commuters of BCT road in particular to remain alert and cautious while traveling in night and during heavy rainfall.

In an advisory issued by Bhalukpong EAC Topek Kakki said that “ heavy landslide and mudslide carrying huge boulders has become almost regular occurrence due to incessant rainfall in location 46 KM near (Lumum Fall) between Tippi and Pinjuli bridge of Balipara-Charduar-Tawang road (BCT Road) 

Travelling in night hours and also during heavy rainfall on the said stretch is risky. Several such incidents of civilian vehicle being washed away while crossing block point. The EAC Said.

In the interest of general public and for the safety of life and property of those whosoever travel through the stretch should wait, watch & move only after ensuring that the road is safe, travelers are advice to avoid travelling during night time except on medical  and emergency case as man at work will also not be available during night time. The travelers are advice to obey the instruction passed by GREEF personnels at work whenever they are engaged in clearing works. The EAC said in an order.

Due to heavy rainfall and landslide in Bhalukpong administrative circle, a control room has set up at EAC Office Bhalukpong to manage in case any vulnerable situation occurred during the monsoon season. A officer and officials has been assigned to monitor the activities of the area and anyone can if any information of emergency can share and also can sought help and support and cooperation form the administration. The RAC said.

All the PRI leaders, Bazar welfare committee members, GBs, NGOs and public leaders has been requested to inform any incident and disaster occurred due to heavy rainfall/landslide to the control room. The EAC added.
