Bhalukpong gear up for preparedness for disaster and emergency situations.

ITANAGAR, MAY 24 : The bordering town of West Kameng district ‘ Bhalukpong’ with Sontipur district in Assam is gearing up its preparedness in view of monsoon and any eventuality of flood and disaster other natural calamity.

Bhalukpong EAC Kesang Goiuba informed that a meeting was held at EAC BHalukpong office on Monday wherein all stakeholders and HoDs of the circle attended. All members exchanged their experience related to disaster management in their respective area and suggested various ways and means to take in case of emergency and disaster. EAC said.

The EAC explained the objective to maintain a committee and subcommittee who will monitor the natural disaster and supervise the relief and rescue operation during the emergency period. Six such sub-committee have been constituted. All the committee members also ask to submit their views and suggestions which were discussed thoroughly. He said.

The list of resources and inventories were updated and asked to prepare themselves, the members of the circle level management  committee (CLMC) and new members were inducted and the contact no of old members and others were updated on the occasion. EAC said. 

Safe places were identified and in case of requirement of Relief camps were also discussed, the coordinates of the helipad and other connectivity to the circle will be shared with district administration and state government. The vulnerable area and flood prone area are also being identified. He added.

The EAC is starting with a control room with contact no-6033835755 and 8119814803 and person who would seeking help may contact the falling numbers in case of emergency and at the same time the EAC has appeal NGOs, voluntary organisation and social workers to render voluntary service to the general public as a service to humanity during the emergency and upcoming monsoon.
