Naharlagun, Jul 3: Capital police identifies source strikes 300 kms away, arrests 2, recovers 246.8 Kg cannabis(ganja) from Kalaktang.
During continued investigation on NLG PS FIR no. 82/2022 US 20b(i)C/27a/29NDPS act dated 24/6/22 in which 721 Kg suspected ganja was recovered from the husband wife duo of Tadar Chada and Tadar Kampung from Gollonallah , Naharlagun and Lekhi area, it was ascertained from the duo that the source was located at Kalaktang in West Kameng district. Using the disclosure statements, electronic surveillance and human intelligence the information was confirmed.
Immediately, a team was formed on 1/7/22 under the leadership of DySP D Gumja, SDPO Naharlagun and SI SS Jha of Naharlagun PS. OC PS Naharlagun coordinated efforts from here. The 10 member police team left Naharlagun in the evening and reached Kalaktang in the early hours of 2/7/22 covering over 300 kilometres. Capital police informed.
On reaching, local raid was conducted after precision planning by DySP Gumja and team along with PS Kalaktang and Tsering Rakpa from Boha village and Lobsang Darjee @Nima from Ankhaling villages of Kalaktang circle, West Kameng were arrested.
While arresting Tsering Rakpa from Boha village the police team also discovered his godown and during search found 19 bags of suspected ganja ready to be sold to buyers weighing 246.8 grams. Immediately, Local magistrate ADC Kalaktang Anu Bamin and OC PS Kalaktang T Taloj were informed. Magistrate and OC PS rushed to the spot. The said seizure along with complaint was reported to Kalaktang Police and a case vide Kalaktang PS Case No-04/22 u/s 20(b)(ii)(C) NDPS Act has been registered in this regards. The accused were brought to Capital on 2/7/22 and produced before the magistrate.
Capital Police achieved this feat of arrest of the two main drug suppliers and seizure of 246.81 kilogram of narcotics with the support of OC PS Kalaktang SI T.Taloj and his team and ADC Kalaktang Smti Anu Bamin.
Capital Police, in FIR no 82/22 u/s 20b(i)C/27a/29NDPS act dated 24/6/22, has till now arrested 6 people in this case including the main peddlers Tadar Chada and his wife Kampung, their accomplices Tadar Mama and Tadar Taksing and the source of the drug seized from Kalaktang namely Tsering Rakpa and Lobsang Dorjee@ Nima.
With these arrests, over 960 Kg of narcotics have been seized in two separate cases in Naharlagun and Kalaktang and taken off the streets by the police team till now. Capital police has found excellent support in its fight against drugs from people of Kalaktang especially ADC Khalaktang Anu Bamin and OC PS Kalaktang SI T Taloj.
Further, Capital police has been able to achieve the unique feat of reaching from users to distributors at Naharlagun till the source/cultivator at Kalaktang. Thus, busting the whole supply chain of the drugs. Informed capital police.
