Druba Festival celebrations conclude with Grand Sang Puja at Kepang La Pass

Gelling, Jan 07: The vibrant Druba festival, showcasing the rich traditions of the Memba community in Upper Siang, concluded today at Gelling Village after a 10-day celebration. Highlighted by the mesmerizing Bardo Cham, a unique Mask Dance, the festival aimed to preserve the ancient Buddhist customs of the region.

The festivities reached their pinnacle with the Sang Puja, graciously facilitated by the Spear Corps of the Indian Army. This culminating ceremony took place at the revered Chorten on the majestic Kepang La Pass, symbolizing unity and cultural preservation.

The Druba festival, organized annually in rotation among border villages like Gelling, Bishing, Khopu, Bona, and Norbulling, stands as a testament to the commitment of the community in preserving and sharing their esoteric traditions.
