Education Minister Taba Tedir kick off 26th inter-school sports meet DPVN, Pasighat

ITANAGAR, Dec 18 : The Education & Cultural Affairs minister Taba Tedir on Sunday kickoff three days 26th inter School sports meet at Donyi Polo Vidya Niketan (DPVN) Talom Rukbo Nagar, Pasighat in East Siang district amid huge gathering.

The inter school meet is being organised by the Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti (ASVS) state unit of Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shikshan. An NGO working in the field of education for decades. 

Around Six hundred selected students from Twenty seven schools including Nine KGBVs from different districts under ASVS are participating in the sports meet.

The education Minister Taba Tedir while addressing the function as chief guest has encouraged the students to take on sports as an activity to stay out of problems. Stating health is wealth he stressed on playing games and sport an exercise on daily basis to remain fit and fine with a healthy body and sound mind. He said.

Every student should participate in the meet with enthusiasm and zeal by maintaining discipline and spirit of sportsmanship, he added.

Informing that the state government has already given sports quota job reservation of a 5 % and 10% in general and police department, the minister also opined that students across the state will incorporate fitness and healthy habits into their lives.

He also appealed to the parents to encourage their respective children in their field of interest rather than forcing them to concentrate on studies only.

Chief Minister Advisor and senior BJP leader Tai Tagak attended the function as guest of honour. Tagak also address the function and motivated the students to become a fine gentleman and serve the society. 

Arunachal shiksha vikas samiti (ASVS) state coordinator Sukumaran K, organizing committee Chairman Dr. Kaling Dai, ASVS President Bodoing Yirang,  East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, Arunachal Olympic association secretary Bamang Tago and other eminent personality among others were present on the occasion.
