BORUM, MARCH 19 : The freight service for the business community and also to transport the raw materials of agriculture, horticulture and state owned product to other parts of the country the Indian railway is likely to start the freight service at Naharlagun railway station. Informed officials.
Briefing the media, Senior divisional commercial Manager Ashok Kumar Dey said that it is necessary that the freight services is operationalised from Naharlagun railway station and for which ramp is necessary to be constructed. Accordingly the stock yard and godown is also necessary and all these facilities are being looked into. Tenders will be called and the stoking system on PPP mode. He said.
Today we did a survey and investigation to choke out all the issues and also to resolve these issues so that the service is immediately started. The authority and administrative officers including officers of various line department are also very cooperate and hope everything will be solved and resolved in a week or two. He said.
There are also issues of parking and special parking for APST transport buses and we have identified space and place for the same and hope soon the other facilities for the passengers and general public at railway stations are enhanced. He added.
