Geto Sora, around 8 years to become the youngest shuttler of state to reached international event and beg gold

ITANAGAR, NOV 9 : The 9 years boy Geto Sora become the youngest shuttler who take part in international event and beg gold defeating strong players of other country.

A felicitation porgramme was organized by Arunachal state badminton association (ASBA) at old MLA cottage at ESS sector which was addressed by Hony Secretary P Bagara and others.

Speaking to media, Bagra inform that Master Sora is the first player from state who have taken part in any international even and has beg gold. It is a happy moment that we see some hope that he ay reached to category match in future at under 11, 13, 16, 18, open to all and any other event. He is very passionate to play badminton and such competition has made proud that we have to groom our children’s and it it their hobby and habit they can become a good players and bring laurel and nation. Said Bagra.

The YONEX-SINGHA-BTY championship 2022  from November 2nd to 7th at Banthongyord badminton school, Thailand. Geto was only player who participated in game 9 and did well. We are happy and in future we hope that he continue his tempo and take part I specific category games at international platform and even to Olympic games and represent India and bring medal. Added Bagra.

Bagra further said that from this year our national president has allowed for players under 11 and this year we have selected 4 players who will represent Arunachal Pradesh at Noida and leave state in next week. 

The team manager and Geto father who accompanied him to Thailand and back inform that Geto played in all games since from beginning and it was expected that he will beg medal and he did it. The winner trophy, certificate was awarded by former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Korn Dabbaransi.

Geto defeated third seed Phukit Chantarangsee of Thailand in straight sets of 20-11, 20-11 to clinch the title. The multinational event BTY- Yonex-Singha championship. Geto had earlier defeated number one seed Kritin Phutthawilai of Thailand in quarter final and Malaysia seeded one Yi Kang Liu  semi-final respectively to cement his post in the finals of the coveted championships.

Geto sons of Dr. Marte Sora and B Nyodu Sora is about 8 years and study at Little star school, Papunallah, Naharlagun in class III.
