‘Kamlang Tiger Reserve – at a Glance’ book released by DyCM Chowna Mein

ITANAGAR, May 07: Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein released a book titled ‘Kamlang Tiger Reserve – at a Glance’ authored by Cheshta Singh, DFO Kamlang Tiger Reserve today in presence of Home Minister, Bamang Felix, Advisor to Power, Balo Raja, MLA Ojing Tasing, Chief Secretary, Sharath Chauhan, PCCF, R K Singh, Commissioner (Planning), Prashant Lokhande and others. The book contains documentation of rare flora and fauna found in this one of the youngest Tiger Reserves of the country.

Mein said that documentation of biodiversity and cultural diversity is very essential for their conservation and preservation. He said research and development should go hand in hand. He said Kamlang Tiger Reserve located adjacent to the Namdapha Tiger Reserve can form a nature trail and can be an exciting trekking track passing through Glaw Lake in Lohit District to Mehao Lake in Lower Dibang Valley District. 

He lauded the young IFS Officer for her endeavour for documentation of rare flora and fauna of Kamlang Tiger Reserve and bringing out such a beautiful book in just two years of her stay in Arunachal Pradesh. It indicates her enthusiasm and dedication to her profession. He said the book will be useful for the young scholars and will also inspire them in writing and documentation of the rich natural heritage of the State.

Complementing her after the release of the book, Mein said, “Though you are going on transfer but you are leaving behind your imprint through this book” and wished her best for her next posting.

On the occasion, Home Minister, Bamang Felix, Chief Secretary, Sharath Chauhan, PCCF, R K Singh, Commissioner, Prashant Lokhande and author, Cheshta Singh also spoke.
