Mega blood donation camp held in RK Mission hospital

Itanagar, Sep 18: A mega blood donation camp was organised on Saturday by 138bn CRPF at its HQ in Itanagar, under the flagship of Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav in association with Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth parishad (ABTYP), Arunachal Pradesh Police and Gorkha welfare society, Itanagar.

The programme was inaugurated by Swami Kripakarananda secretary R.K mission hospital Itanagar  in presence of Swami  Praiyatmananda, Shri H.S Kales Commandant 138bn CRPF, Shri Vedpal singh Dy. Commandant, Dr. Kesant W.Thongdok Vice president of Indian medical Association, Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Sonjoy Tamoli Medical officer, Shri kishor Kumar gurung Vice President, Gorkha welfare society Itanagar.

Starting with the felicitation of guests by Shri H.S kales,  Dr. Thongdok addressed the gathering about the importance of blood donation, its crucial importance in saving hundreds of lives everyday and role of blood donation on donors health. He dispelled the myths surrounding the blood donation and stressed on shortage of blood at blood banks of R.K mission hospital and TRIHMS.

 A medical team from R.K Mission hospital with its doctors and paramedics actively participated in the campaign with active participation from civil society at large. A total of 56 units of blood were collected and were sent to the R.K mission and TRIHMS for further action.
