Missing everester Tapi Mra and his associated Niku Dao rescue operation update 

ITANAGAR, Jul 05: In pursuance of next search & rescue operation to locate missing Everester Tapi Mra and his assistant Niku Dao, Deputy Commissioner (DC) East Kameng, Sachin Rana has agreed to provide necessary assistance to the Search & Rescue Operation team.

Decision was taken after having a threadbare discussion at the DC office, Seppa, East Kameng district on Wednesday which was convened by DC with family members of Mra & Dao and Tagin Cultural Society (TCS).

During a meeting family members provided the details of their action plan, timeline and the logistics required for the search & rescue operation and assistance required from the District Administration (DA).

Team leader Everester Tagit Sorang informed the DC that they have not received any assistance fund till date from the state government due to which the expedition has been delayed.  

The family members have also requested DC to handle the wages and ration for the porters in advance.

The expedition team has agreed with the terms and condition of District Administration (DA) that all the porters recruited will have to give their Indemnity Bond as directed by secretary sports of the state, DA will manage ration, trekking equipments and wages as per list provided by the team, since the area of operation is near the Line of Control (LOC) team and the department of remote sensing should get necessary NOC for flying drones in that area from Ministry of Defence (GoI), Nodal Officer (sports department) shall be responsible for getting hourly weather update and communication equipment (satellite phones/Walki-Talkie) would be managed by the team themselves.     

As of now the final date for the expedition is yet to be decided which is depending upon the release of funds by the state government. 

AS per sources informed that reportedly an expenditure of Rs. 1.74 crore would be incurred which is yet to be approved and sanctioned by the state. The fund and other issued were discussed in May last with Chief Secretary at AP Civil Secretariat, Itanagar
