ITANAGAR, NOV 17 : The two day conference of the fifth North-East Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India was organised by the Arunachal Pradesh Surgeons Association at the State Banquet Hall, Itanagar on 17th and 18th of November 2023.
Dr S K Jain, President, Association Surgeons of India graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Dr Saia Chenkual, Chairman North East Chapter- Association of Surgeon of India attended the function as Guest of Honour.
Floral tribute to Late Dr Tarik Doke. He was working as Senior Surgical Specialist at TRIHMS, Naharlagun at time of demise.
The Life Time Achievement Award was given away to senior most surgeons Dr Karthik Nishing and Dr Kabang Lego by the dignitaries on the occasion.
Chief Guest of the event Dr S K Jain, President, Association of Surgeons of India inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp. Annual conference of North-East Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India was organized under leadership of Dr Jadav Nabam Chairman organizing Committee, Dr Ojing Komut Organizing Secretary and team of organizing committee. Formal
inaugural function was followed by scientific sessions delivered by more than 24 national faculties of surgical field covering recent advances.
Altogether more than 100 Surgeons from the North East Chapter states of Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Sikkim participated in the CME deliberations.
Speakers and faculties spoke on topics related to advanced laparoscopy, endoscopy, superspeciality topics respectively. Dr Jayanta Kr Das, Secretary, NE Chapter of ASI presented annual report of the society. CME event was followed by General Body Meeting and Annual Conference.
18 Annual conference of North East Chapter Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons was organized in same venue.
