MP Tapir Gao sought GoI to consider flood restoration and flood-controlled schemes for NE states especially Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR, Aug 03: The Arunachal East Member of Parliament (MP) (Lok Sabha), Tapir Gao appealed to the central government to consider all the flood restoration and flood-controlled schemes for the North Eastern states especially Arunachal Pradesh.  

He was addressing during the Zero hour in the parliament on Tuesday last, wherein he stressed upon approval of all the projects submitted by the state government at the state.

The state government has requested the ministry of Jal Shakthi GoI for the immediate release of funds for the rest of flood-affected districts such as Siang, Dibang, Namsai, Tezu and the capital complex, he informed.

During the recent monsoon season’s natural calamities, 19 people have lost their lives in Arunachal and Assam being the worst hit flood and landslide has claimed 195 lives, he said in the parliament.

 Many bridges and highways have been washed away due to floods which need special care from the central government for a permanent solution, he added.
