Pasighat-Pangin road closed, commuters requested to void travelling

ITANAGAR, MAY 23 : The East Siang district administration on Monday evening after a massive landslide on Pasighat-Pangin road has issued travel advisory to the commuters and travelers to refrain from travelling on the said road.

DC Pasighat Tayi Taggu informed that there is a continuous falling of gravels and stones from the hillside on Pasighat-Pangin road stretch at 21.9 KM spot from Ranaghat-Pasighat. He said.

Due to incessant rainfall for the last few weeks and the stretch of road is vulnerable  and pose a serious threat to the commuters. The said stretch now is at risk as a massive landslide of stones had fallen down at around 6.30 PM and blocked the road at the same place and the traffic on the stretch is badly affected. he said.

To avoid any inconveniences or loss of life and property, the general public and commuters are hereby advised to refrain from taking the above route and completely avoid travelling  on the said route till the road is restored. DC added.

The Highway executive engineer Pasighat and NHIDCL GM is directed to clear the debris on war footing so that the commuters can travel safely on the Pasighat-Pangin-Aalo route. However it may take a few days or a week to clear the debris. DC further said.
