ITANAGAR, APRIL 2: One person has been arrested in connection with the murder of DGP staff officer (SO) Sibu George, Sub-Inspector who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his government quarter located at SRPL, Chandannagar near PHQ on Friday.
As per information received from the police sources, the one person has been arrested reportedly from North Lakhimpur district of Assam in late evening by the team of capital police.
After the case of murder was reported, a case has been registered at Chimpu police station of capital complex vide case no-18/22 u/s-302, 201 IPC and has launched the investigation. The investigation process has been supported by SIT, PHQ. The police sources said.
It is to mention that Sibu George, SI of IRBN was attached at PHQ and was working as staff officer (SO) for quite some time and was residing at SRPL, Chandannagar located around two hundred metre from the PHQ.
When contacted, Capital Police SP Incharge, Dr. Neelam Nega said that we have got lead and one person has been arrested as of now and hopeful some more suspect is arrested at the earliest. .
The investigation is in full progress and we will be able to crack the case very soon. Dr. Nega added.
