Commemorating the 250th birth recurrence of Raja Rammohun Roy ” Father of Modern India”, an adverterncy rally of sundry school children of Lower Subansiri District on women empowerment was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Lower Subansiri, Bamin Nime here today. He was accompanied by the District Library Officer, Joram Taga from the District Secretariat building here today by conniving with the rest of the nation.
The rally which witnessed participation of 300 students from the district headquarters coming together again to renew in an effort to the essence of women empowerment. The students from St.Claret College,Ziro also participated as informed by District Library Officer,Joram Taga.
The awareness rally was sponsored by Raja Ram Mohan Roy Library Foundation, Kolkata.
The main theme of the program was sensitization of women empowerment to school children and to motivate them to join in all endeavors of life.
DC Lower Subansiri in his brief address to students present, highlighted the efforts of Shri Raja Ram Mohan Roy who was the first man to advocate in favour of women of India.
The program also saw a series of slogans by school children on Raja Ram Mohan Roy and various social issues.
