Aggrieved candidate on compensate ground of police department appeal for early appointment

ITANAGAR, Dec 09 : The Aggrieved candidates on compensate ground in police department whose appointment is yet to be made has demanded the concerned department to absorb the remaining sanctioned at the earliest.

Addressing the media persons here at APC on Friday, one of the aggrieved candidates Talen Padung said that since 2019, there are 183 candidates whose appointment is yet to be made in the police department, now which has increased to 359 candidates in 2022.

The district level scrutiny of the candidates and submission of reports has been already done, however the recruitment for the candidates was postponed on 10 August last in view of changes in recruitment guidelines, he added.

“Since 2019, we have been waiting since long time it will take to initiate the recruitment process but what we can do,” rued Padung.

During the protest dharna in the year 2019, Home minister Bamang Felix told the candidates that 27 posts have been sanctioned and the same would be appointed, now where is the appointment letter, questioned Tai. Adding that at least posts which are lying vacant should have been appointed rather than lip service.

They informed that a total of 508 candidates had applied for appointment on compassionate grounds in 2019. Out of which 325 candidates were recruited thereby leaving 183 posts left out.

On many occasions the left out candidates have submitted a representation to the Director General of Police (DGP) of the state for immediate recruitment of the sanctioned posts, but their plea was not paid any heed. Since the department head and the government are our parents and that’s why we are only dependent on the government who will take care of us and our future as our bread earner are no more and due to which on compensate ground we are time and gain appealing the government and department to consider our prayer for consideration on humanitarian ground.

“The concept of compassionate appointment is to provide relief to the family members by appointing them in service, but police family members are totally deprived of their rights,” they said.
