NAHARLAGUN, DEC 9 : The Itanagar capital complex Deputy Commissioner on Friday carried out inspection to few government schools in Naharlagun township and interacted with teaching fraternity and students community.
Potom who use to visit schools of capital complex without any intimation to the school authority to oversee the status and activities undergoing in the said school. His surprise visit also serve the better purpose to know the ground reality and reality check of the classes and academic activities going in the schools.
Speaking to media, DC Potom said that five government school are being taken up this time for repairing, maintenance and renovation which was much needed in the greater interest of the development of education scenario and strengthening of infrastructure of schools in capital complex. He said.
The five schools which has been taken up this time area Government Higher Secondary School Arunodaya, Ganga Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School Model village, Model village Middle School and Government middle school Puroik colony. He said.
The suspension bridge toward Government middle school of Puroik colony is also in bad shape and students passing the bridge need immediate repairing and maintenance will be taken up. As per demand the planning department has supported with a fund provision of Rs. 15 lakhs each and all the five school mention the repairing of school campus, repairing of ceiling, denting panting, toilets and even water supply provision. He said.
Most of the work have already been taken up and hope the works completed soon. Though the fund is small but it was applied on the basis of exact requirement and the government has supported and hope the fund will be properly utilized and work will be implemented. I have requested the concern school authority to monitor the work carried out and guide the workers and instruct them to work as per required. Said DC Potom.
Several schools also got some fund and it was implemented by the DDSE but it was not at all sufficient. He said.
Last year Rs. 25 Lakhs was invested in Government Higher Secondary School, Itanagar and desk and benches were provided of an amounting of Rs. 25 lakhs but this year the state government is kind enough to provide the fund for renovation of five schools. He said.
“I have also announced to provide 100 sets of desk and benches for Government Higher Secondary school Polo Colony” which will be done. He said.
With regards to the allotment of land of all the government schools of capital complex, the proposal for allotment has been send to government for consideration and approval and meantime I have directed the officers of land management to prepared the sketch map and other necessary documents so that no further land encroachment taken place to the any educational institutions of capital complex. Students are our future so it is necessary that our educational institution land are not encroached upon and the students study properly in school in an good environment and they become a good citizen and serve the family, community, state and country. Added DC Talo POtom.
DC also interacted with students in various classes of both school at Puroik colony and Polo Colony and motivated them to learn with a motivation and sincerity and also respect parents and teachers.
