Arunachal govorner celebrates Independence day

Itanagar, Mon 15: On the occasion of 76th Independence Day, 15th August 2022, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) and First Lady of the State, hosted ‘At Home’ for the cross section of the society at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, ministers, members of the State Legislative Assembly,  senior bureaucrats, Ex-Servicemen, achievers, awardees and distinguished personalities were present on the occasion.

To mark the special occasion, as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, a colourful cultural programme was organized. Cultural troupes from Gujarat presented the famed Dandiya Dance, while troupe from Uttar Pradesh presented the celebrated Kathak Dance.  From the north east region, cultural troupes from Manipur, the ‘Rhythms of Manipur’ presented the ‘Dancing Drummer’ and the Assam Troupe presented the popular dance ‘Bihu’. Helena Thingbaijam of Team Raj Bhavan presented Manipuri ‘Raas Leela’ and staff artists of Department of Art & Culture sang the ‘Hamara Arunachal’.

The Military Bands of 17 Maratha Light Infantry led by Havildar Sudhir Desai and of 12 Assam Rifles led by Havildar H Borel Singh played patriotic tunes adding passion of patriotism amongst the dignitaries and distinguished guests at the ‘At Home’ function.
