In celebration of International Environment Day, Assam Rifles took the initiative to organize a mass awareness program focused on plastic cleanliness drive and waste management in the villages of Hydel and New-Changlang, located in the Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh. The program aimed to promote a plastic-free zone and establish an efficient waste management system in the region.
Commencing from Hydel Village and extending to New-Changlang Village, the program emphasized the importance of the “3R’s” for achieving a plastic-free environment. The villagers were educated about the significance of reducing plastic usage, recycling plastic waste, and reusing materials. Additionally, they were encouraged to actively participate in the implementation of a central waste management system to maintain a healthy, clean, and plastic-free environment.
The local residents demonstrated their enthusiasm and support by actively engaging in the mass drive, dedicating their efforts to collect plastic waste from the surrounding areas of the village. The villagers praised the Assam Rifles troops for their commendable initiative, acknowledging their role in spreading awareness and motivating the community to ensure a plastic-free zone and a clean, green environment.
