Deomali Administration Assesses Storm Damage and Provides Relief to New Doidam Village

The Deomali Administration, under the leadership of CO D. Baham, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the damage caused by the recent storms that struck New Doidam village on 5th September 2023. Immediate relief efforts were initiated by the district administration to assist the affected residents, including the distribution of 8 bags of rice and essential tarpaulins.

CO D. Baham reported that a total of 17 houses were damaged during the storm, with 4 of them falling into the fully damaged category. The assessment team comprised officials from Agriculture, Horticulture, and the Public Works Department (PWD), who accompanied Baham during the evaluation.

In a show of solidarity, the Patkai Hills Welfare Association, led by Jasmine Shin, along with ZPM Deomali Wangphoon Lowang and his team, also visited the storm-affected victims in New Doidam village, which falls under the Soha administrative circle. ZPM Deomali Wangphoon Lowang generously donated 5 bags of rice and 1 bag of potatoes as emergency relief for the affected residents.

Furthermore, Jasmine Shin, the chief functionary of the Patkai Hills Welfare Association, extended her support by donating 20,000 rupees to assist the victims during this challenging time. The combined efforts of the Deomali Administration and the local community serve as a testament to the unity and resilience of New Doidam village in the face of adversity.
