ITANAGAR, The Deputy Chief Minister and Incharge of Power department Chowna Mein on Wednesday while replying to the question raised by the congress MLA from Mebo assembly constituency Lomboo Tayeng has said that the Revamped distribution sector scheme (RDSS) the power availability of Mebo township shall improved drastically.
Mein said that there has been a proposal namely Revamped distribution sector scheme (RDSS) for an amount of Rs. 65.66 Crore and tender has been floated, on completion of this project the power supply availability under Siang district and Mebo sub-division shall be improved drastically. Said Dy CM Mein.
There has been erratic power supply prevailing in Mebo Sub-division area and across the East Siang district due to insufficient transformer capacity of 10 MVA at Dura 132/33 KV power sub-station which is equivalent to 8 MW against the peak demand of 11 MW of Siang district resulting in load shedding. He said.
Due to long distance of 132 KV transmission line from Ranganadi (Hoj) Via Ziro-Daporijo-Aalo-Pasighat covering more than 300 KM, there is frequent tripping/breakdown in the line due to falling of trees, landslide which cause erratic power supply at receiving end at Pasighat and peripheral areas. He said.
However the hours of supply has been improved drastically. He said.
To improve and supplement the existing transformation capacity of 10 MVA at Dura 132/33 KV power sub-station the government is constantly monitoring and reviewing the progress of early commissioning of 2×10 MVA 132/33 KV, sub-station Napit and 2×31.5 MVA 132/33 KV sub-station Niglok being taken up by Power grid under comprehensive scheme and the power supply hours will improve. Added Power Minister.
With separate transmission line the Power scenario of mebo township and Siang district will naturally improve. He added.
Earlier, the Mebo MLA Lomboo Tayeng said that due to erratic power supply the people of Mebo assembly constituency and East Siang as well has been facing lots of untold problems.
