HPDCAPL celebrated its 16th foundation day, Lokhande appeal the officers and officials to rededicate themselves for the cause of HPD in state.

ITANAGAR, DEC 8 : The Hydro Power development corporation of Arunachal Pradesh Limited, Itanagar on Thursday celebrated its 16th foundation ay in befitting manner with day long programme at state golden jubilee banquet hall.

Power & Hydropower commissioner P S Lokhande attended the function as chief guest and become the part of celebration and interacted the media.

Speaking to media, Commissioner Lokhande said that it is a happy moment that the entire fraternity of HPDCAPL is celebrating the day and rededicating for the promotion of the hydro power development in state. The corporation is planning with a target for 3000 MW for which we are in advance stage in some project and survey and investigation is going on in some projects. He said.

While congratulating the officers and officials led by CMD Toko Anuj for planning to harness the resource. He said.

The state government is working with 51 project under border area under  illumination  out of which 17 projects will be commissioned by March 2023. He said.

The project Sambhachu project in Tawang district which was commissioned few years back had earned a revenue of 4 crore and is a happy moment so if we considered such project in few identified area we can earn a huge revenue for the development of state and country. He said.

Whatever we take up the project with due consultancy with the local people. The project give benefit to local area, local people, community and state as a whole. We should see that these projects undertaken by the contractors where our youths get employment for which our youths are trained and skilled. The state government has plan to convert the ITI Roing as  HPD ITI. Added Commissioner Lokhande. 

HPDCAPL Chairman and Managing director Toko Anuj in his address said that we are giving our stress to start with few projects in next financial years. WE are going to sign MOU for Kurung Kumey and others.


To increase up the revenue we are equally tiring to dedicate our manpower and resource for development of HPD in state. We have submitted few and for approval of 3000 MW project and hope that the state government allocate the corporation in the matter. He said.

We are earning around 2 crore every year form a single project and try to earn more in time to come. He said.


HPD working and functioning has been realized lately even though we have been able to see the light of raw. Our state may be a powerhouse of country and Asian continent. As per information around 5 % of the total potential has been harnessed but we have lot to do. Said CMD


We are trying our best effort inspite of very less manpower we have been. able to commission 3 MW in Tawang by the Chief Minister and it has motivation for us to work with a renewed zeal. He said.


It is happy to know that recently more than 10 lawmaker including CM and DCM and few cabinet ministers, MLas has visited the said HPD at Jimithang is a happy moment. Said Anuj.


To harness the potentials we need local partners to resolved local and other issues in the locality to strengthen. Our HPDCL family is a small family but the staffs and officials are carrying put the duty and responsibility for strengthened the future of HPD. He said.


We are also trying to provide the skill development for all the staffs and officials so that the work and duty are delivered in
more efficient way and work with a target of production of 3000 MW of which the projects and DPR submitted to state government for consideration and approval. He added.


Secretary Power Ajay Kumar Bisht, HPDCAPL chief consultant (Tech) S Poddar, DHPD Chief Engineer (East Zone) Jumaar Kamdak, DHPD Chief Engineer (P&D) Pura Tupe,  NHPC ED Tapas Sinha, NHPC GM Rajiv Kumar, Under Secretary Nabam Pekhi also address the gathering.

Several officials, technical’s and others of corporation were felicitated and awarded for the hard work. 

The website of the HPDCAPL was also launched  by secretary Power on the occasion.

Tribute was also paid for the Junior engineer Late Tadar Taram who passed away recently in Jimaithang, Tawang district.
