Kongko bridge at Chimpu washed away, SLSA remain cut off

ITANAGAR, JUNE 28 : The temporary bridge and bypass road near Chimpu over river Kongko has been washed on Tuesday morning leaving the Sange Laden sports academy and several other installation remain cut off.

Itanagar ZPM Taro Tagia alongwith several gram members and local leaders and officers from PWD Capital division ‘A’ has visited and inspected the  washed away portion and the culvert.

Tagia inform that we are experiencing heavy rain these days and the work for the construction of permanent bridge was taken lately and due to which the work progress has been badly affected. However the contractor has made a passage by way of bypass road and a culvert which has been washed away. Thousands of population reside in other parts including the SLSA, office of directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, SAA office, and general public and other so it is urgently required to manage a separated passage and alternate route for the people there. Said Tagia.

The PWD Capital Division ‘A’ AE Naresh Teli inform that the tender works for construction of bridge has already been done. The work was also started but due to heavy downpour the work has been hampered and to mitigate the local commuters a bypass road with culvert was constructed which has been washed away. He said.

We are trying to make an alternate arrangement on temporary basis for the local residents and commuters if the local authority permit. He added.
