More than 30 Students of forestry of various parts of NE Region, West Bengal and Bihar undergo 90 days training programme in state under forest department and SFRI

ITANAGAR, SEPT 1 : More than 30 students from various parts of North East region, West Bengal and Bihar are undergoing training on various component of department of environment, Forest and climate change and all forest related like of geology, wild life and botany, cane and bamboo production  etc for 90 days and exposure trip to various part of state.

Launching the 90 days training programme, the PCCF and Principal Secretary Environment & Forest Jitendra Kumar said that we being the people associated with the forest related department have lots of responsibility to shoulder. We should take up the issue of protection of flora and fauna as well as promotion of green coverage and dense forest so that our carbon percentage does not decrease. We all are part of forest fraternity and our work is highly challenging. He said.

No carbon balancing is a global phenomenon and all are actively involved in carbon neutral. Our state Arunachal Pradesh is carbon negative state. We have to protect the ecology and supporting the economy as well through providing several types of employment in various places including the NHPC, NHAI, Forest department, research institutes and now NGOs are also associating with the ecology and forest, flora and fauna activities. He said.

“ Sky is the limit” so continue to work hard through hard work and study and research work and training and become a fine gentle to serve the society, humanity and protect the ecology. Added PCCF.

He further inform that Arunachal Pradesh is the 2nd highest coverage of forest and first in dense forest coverage so everyone has to share their responsibility that our forest cover does not decrease and we live in clean and green environment. 

Soil Scientist and  Course coordinator R K Taj inform that these students will get 90 days training on various issue related to forest, flora and fauna, wildlife, cane and bamboo production and economic activities, biological activities, medicinal plants cultivation and management,  taxonomy and herbarium, handling of GPS, study on soil and water at various sites, conservation of river basis, catchment area development, nursery and bed preparation of various species, various types of orchids and their conservation. High altitude eco-system and mountaineering, mushroom cultivation and various other issues. He said.

The students will get 70 days theory training identified for the purpose like of Van VIgyan Kendra Chessa in Balijan circle, Cane and bamboo processing unit at Poma in Sangdupota circle. Orchid farm at Tippi in West Kameng district, Bhalukpong, Namsai and other part of state for their first hand information and knowledge.

The students will be given to prepare date, project report and story and have to submit to us and it will be evaluated and further their will go to their own college, university. 

A digitized soil map of Arunachal Pradesh was also launched on the occasion which would be utilized by the officers, and research person for all purpose in their day to day activities. 

PCCF (P & D) Biswal, Addl PCCF K B Singh, Addl PCCF (RE) S S Kanpal, CF (HQ) Milo Tassar, Dr Neelam Yania, Y Bole also spoke on the occasion.

Discussion on Arigun surrender abhyan, eagle nest programme of West Kameng district and other issues were discuses on the first day which was participated by officer from other department like of BSI, Climate change and others.
