National awardee Taying Serbi 97 years passed away on Thursday, last rite held on Friday

NAHARLAGUN, JULY 1 : The national awardee Taying Serbi and a founder member cum land donor of state capital passed away at  the age of 97 years at his residence at Model village, hundreds of people from all walks of life take part in his last journey held today. 

Tarh welfare society General secretary Tarh Hachey while speaking to media informed that Late Serbi son of Late Taying Bado and Taying Yaje born in years 1925 at Model village, Naharlagun was an active social worker in his days and played vital role in establishment of state capital with others members of community and society. a father of one son, eight daughters and grandfather of dozens of grandchildren who passed away on Thursday evening.  

Late Serbi was a fatherly figure among the clam and several eminent personalities visit to him to take advice and suggestion being an old and elderly figure in the society and has seen the state for decades. He said.

He urged the youths to try to get basic and other important information about the community, society and place and our state so that we can remain updated about our past. TWS GS added.

The Itanagar local MLA Techi Kaso informed that Late Serbi was his relative and he was a man of principle and committed for the welfare of the people and wanted our state developed like others.  

He was also a religious leader and taught the basis of life and principle to reach peace and communal harmony and brotherhood. His son Taying Kuma, a public leader, passed away a few years back and on Thursday he also left us.  Said Kaso.

I pray almighty for eternal peace of departed souls in heavenly abode. Kaso further said.

It is to mention that Late Taying Serbi was a recipient of a national award certificate by the Ministry of Textile for promotion of handicraft specially Cane basket by the president of India in 1991 and was popularly known for his social welfare activities.

Several eminent personalities and elderly people of various communities, tribes and societies attended the last rite which was performed at Model village residence.

IMC Corporator Tarh Nachung, Borum ZPM Tok Tama, BJP Spokesman Techi Neecha, Arunachal Pradesh Bar Association President Tayum Son, senior leader Techi Toka, Dr KIpa Tuglik and others attended the last journey of Late Taying Serbi.
