Nirjuli Cricket Club (NCC) beat Mengio Cricket Club (MCC) by 31 runs

DOIMUKH, Sept 09: The Nirjuli Cricket Club (NCC) beat Mengio Cricket Club (MCC) by 31 runs in the inaugural match of the 1st Taha Atu Memorial Trophy 2022 played at AB Cricket Ground, Emchi here.

In the inaugural match, NCC captain Kamsha Yangfo won the toss and elected to bat first and set a total of 119/9 in their allotted 20 overs.

Captain Kamsha Yangfo scored 33 runs while Akhilesh Sahani, Sandeep Kumar Thakur, Licha Jhon, and Dado Tachung scored 18,15,12 runs respectively.

For MCC, Nabam Takam took 3 wickets while Likha Tayam and Leki Tsering took 2 wickets each.

In reply, MCC was all out in just 82 runs in 17.3 overs.

Taba Tatang, Leki Tsering and Jesh Nabam took 14,11 and 10 runs.

Sandeep Kumar Thakur, Myendung Singpho, Likha Soniya, and Mibom Mosu took 2 wickets each while Akhilesh Sahani took 1 wicket.

In the second match of the day, Itanagar Cricket Club beat Doria Cricket Academy by 36 runs.

Winning the toss, the ICC captain decided to bat first and scored 118 runs losing all their wickets in 19.2 overs.

Captain Suraj Tayam scored 60 runs while Shaik Salam and Chandan Kumar Singh scored 13 and 11 runjs.

For DCC, Sanjit Barman and Techi Kagung took 3 wickets each while Amarjeet Sharma and Toko Tabia took 1 wicket each.

In reply, DCC were all out at 82/10 in 15.5 overs. Amarjeet Sharma scored 49 runs.

Chandan Kumar Singh took 5 wickets, Geyom Ado took 2 wickets while Darge Bagra and Mapu Yigam took 1 wickets each.

Chandan Kumar Singh was awarded man of the match.

The tournament is organised by Doimukh Cricket Association and supported by We Foundation.

In the inaugural match Arunachal Teachers Association president Kipa Kechak, Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries president, IMC Corporator and Nirjuli Cricket Club President Tarh Nachung and ATA Papum Pare unit president Nangbia Zeekam among others were present on the match.
