Sporting events underway to commemorate the 16th Nyishi day celebration on April 19

ITANAGAR, Apr 16 : Several games and sporting events are underway to commemorate the 16th ‘ Nyishi day’ celebration with participation of hundreds of participants across the Nyishi dominated areas and district of state.

Speaking to media, the Nyishi elite society (NES) general secretary Heri Maring inform that 1st time the games and sports has been introduced in the celebration to motivate and encourage the youths to maintain a good health and spirit for a healthy body and sound mind and at the same time they can associated with various games and sport they like can play in future in other competition to be held in their respective places. He said.
The Nyishi Elite is celebrating 16th Nyishi Day on 19 April, 2023 at NES Secretariat Richi Jullang, Itanagar. Commemorating the celebration Nyishi Volley Trophy for both men and Women was kicked on 15th April 2023, the kickoff ceremony was held on Saturday April 15 by NES Vice-President (East) Bar Takum and several others. Total Nine team each of both men and women are participating in the tournament.

In the semi final played today in men category Kamle defeated East Kameng and Kurung Kumey defeated Kra Daadi and both the team have entered in the final. In Women volleyball Kurung Kumey defeated East Kameng and Papum Pare defeated Kra Daadi. The final of both men and women will be played on 17 April 2023 at NES office campus. He Said..

Besides, Traditional games and sports of Tug of war, Archery and Dapo (Pole Wrestling) will be held on 17 April 2023 from 10 am onwards.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein will grace the Nyishi day celebration function as the Chief Guest.

On occasion, NES Life Time Achievement Award will be conferred to the achievers of the community, and the Posthumous Award will be handed over to legal heirs of the Unsung Heroes of Arunachal Pradesh as conferred by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh on February 21, 2023, as per the programme give overleaf.
