State level chess selection tournament underway for school children

ITANAGAR, JULY 9 : The two days state level chess selection tournament for school children’s for aged group  (under-15) under the aegis of All India chess federation organised by All Arunachal Pradesh chess association (AAPCA) is underway here at Siddhartha hall.

Inaugurating the two days state level event, the Sports Association of Arunachal Vice Chairman Tana Sanjiv Tara in his address said that chess is a mind game and play with brain and the players need to play with sharp mind and understand the opponent gently. 

He requested the parents to motivate the childrens to take part in various games and sport to maintain physical fitness with a healthy body and sound mind while chess will make the mind and brains harp and lead the brain to beat the opponent very gently during the game of chess and the chess will help them to maintain calculative and good decision. He said. 

Drug is another big challenges these days which is damaging the life of the youths and we should always try to remain away and disassociate with those element and live with a happy, healthy and wealthy life with a peace of mind. He said.

AAPCA Secretary Tamchi Kache inform that this is the first of its kind of tournament held in Arunachal Pradesh. Such tournament will be continued in future which will givn opportunity to the young budding talent among our childrens who can become the state, national champion and also take part in international tournament. He said.

The winners and 1st runner-up of the boys and girls category will get opportunity to witness the chess Olympiad at Mahabalipuram,, Chennai which will be held in the last week of July.  The best boys and girls selected form this tournament will be provided three night stay at Chennai alongwith to and fro journey fare. The programme will be attended by 187 country. He said.

One hundred eleven participant from various districts of state including the schools of various schools of capital complex are taking part in two days tournament. All total participants form 25 school are taking part. He said. 

We are very optimistic that our boys and girls from NE region specially out state have vast potential to play any types of games and sports and if properly given training with facility they can perform better and have the ability to bring laurel for themselves for state and even country. The AAPCA Secretary Tamchi Kache added.

AAPCA Vice President (Admn) Tassar Mohan,  Executive Member Nabam Nikum and other senior members and local leaders attended the inaugural ceremony.
