Three days awareness on Menstrual Hygiene awareness camp by APSCW concluded

ITANAGAR, JUNE 3 : The three days’ awareness on Menstrual Hygiene awareness camp concluded with a day-long programme including street show, nukkad natak, meeting and distribution of sanitary napkins to women folks nearby Gohpur Tinali by the students.

The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for women team under the leadership of Chairperson Kenjum Pakam, Vice Chairperson  Nabam Yahi Tad and other members began with Menstrual and hygiene. The Programme has been sponsored by the National Commission for Women, New Delhi.

While addressing the gatherings APSCW Vice Chairperson Nabam Yahi Tad  addressed the students of RKM Public school here at Gopur Tinali and spoke on the importance of awareness programmes for giving exposure and empowering the women and school and college going students in rural and urban areas. 

She informed that awareness on women trafficking, harassment of women at work place and other important issue of women will be discussed soon and awareness on all such issues will be done across the state as per feasibility in phase manner. 

APSCW Member Kago T Yassung, Ngurang Nama,Member  and members secretary Mabi Taipodia Jini spoke on various issue to lead a healthy life by maintaining hygiene and take reactionary measures  to lead a healthy life with a healthy body and a sound mind. 

TRIHMS Professor and Gynaecologist Dr. Miranda Pagging attended the programme as  resource person on the occasion spoke on menstrual hygiene, treatment and medicine adn other aspects.

Teh programme also highlighted the aim and objectives of the awareness programme,  spreading awareness about menstruation is very important especially in rural and urban areas to break the taboo and end the stigma around menstruation. The aim and objective of APSCW were also discussed. 

Question and answer session was also there wherein students of the school took part in the interactive session.
