Tirap DC launches Tirap weekly market in Borduria village

KHONSA, 29th January— In a ceremony attended by Deputy Commissioner Hento Karga, Tirap District proudly inaugurated the “Tirap Weekly Market” on Monday at 9 am near Thingdong Bus waiting shed, along NH-315A in Borduria village. The event, attended by the Borduria Youth Association (BYA), women, local traders, shopkeepers, and the general public, marked the beginning of a community-oriented marketplace.

DC Tirap commended the initiative, emphasizing its potential to meet the essential needs of residents and nearby areas. He urged shopkeepers to acquire ILPs for hassle-free operations, emphasizing the importance of affordability for the benefit of the local population. Additionally, he suggested the construction of market sheds and toilets to maintain cleanliness.

Organizer Jetwang Lowang announced that the Tirap Weekly Market will be held every Monday, starting today, from 9 am at the specified venue. The market will offer a diverse range of products, including vegetables, utensils, fruits, clothes, cosmetics, electrical goods, groceries, footwear, and iron works. Lowang expressed intentions to expand the market based on the evolving needs of the community.
