BJYM holds ‘Young India Run’ to mark NYD celebration

ITANAGAR, Jan 12: As part of the National Youth Day (NYD), commemorating the 160th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Arunachal Pradesh unit today organized ‘Young India Run’ from Raj Bhawan to RK Mission Hospital premises.

On the occasion, floral tributes was paid to the statue of Swami Vivekananda.

The programme was also carried out in 22 districts of the State, including East Siang, Namsai, Lohit, West Kameng, Lower Dibang Valley and Tawang among others.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who was also a part of the programme, flagged off the BJYM Young India Run at Namsai.

Zingnu Namchoom, Namsai MLA-cum-State general secretary BJP, flagged off the programme at Itanagar.

Speaking to the media, the MLA said that the Young India Run, a short marathon, was organized by the party to celebrate the NYD and to pay tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the party leaders and workers of the entire country after flagging off the National Youth Festival in Hubli district of Karnataka.

The theme of the festival this year is ‘Viksit Yuva Viksit Bharat.” And, the youth festival is being observed on NYD. The festival is being organized at Hubballi-Dharwad, Karnataka by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka from 12th-16th January.
