Empowering Women: Seppa Hosts Insightful Awareness Program

In a concerted effort to empower women and foster community awareness, a dynamic awareness program unfolded at Kameng Hall Seppa. Organized by the District Hub for Empowerment of Women unit under District ICDS Cell, East Kameng District, the event drew significant participation, including dedicated staff from DHEW and District ICDS Cell Seppa.

Smti Jaya Taba, Deputy Director of WCD Seppa, set the stage with a warm welcome, articulating the aims and objectives of the program. Dr. Papi Natung, Gynecologist at District Hospital Seppa, took the floor, providing a comprehensive understanding of the rules and regulations surrounding the PCPNDT Act 1994.

Adding another layer to the program’s richness, Smti Juni Taku, District Mission Coordinator of DHEW, sensitized participants on crucial women-centric legislations, including the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006. With 30 participants in attendance, the collaborative effort aims to deepen community understanding of key legislations, marking a commendable stride towards fostering women’s well-being and legal rights in the region.
