ITANAGAR, Jul 26: In a late-night case of burglary, an amount of Rs 11,73,000 was stolen from an ATM at Kankar Nallah in Naharlagun.
In connection with the incident, an FIR has been lodged by Biswajit Sharma, 36, son of Gobin Sharma of A-sector, Naharlagun, local representative of the NRC Corporation India Pvt. Ltd, Naharlagun.
According to the FIR, the incident took place in the wee hours of July 26 between 2 am to 3 am.
“Some unknown culprits cut down the ATM ID no. DFNK003232042 of Kanakar Nallah, Naharlagun with gas cutter,” the FIR said adding that a cash amount of Rs. 11,73000 was stolen by the culprits from the ATM.
On receipt of the FIR, a case (No. 95/22 u/s 457/380/34 IPC) has been registered at the Naharlagun police station and Sub-Inspector J. Kamdak has been given the responsibility to conduct the investigation.
The information about the burglary reached the police one-and-half hours after the incident after being informed by the local representative of the NCR Corporation India Pvt. Ltd, sources said.
